ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR
Reports to: Executive DirectorHelp keep the company running smoothly behind the scenes. The Administrative Coordinator assists with organization, scheduling, communications, and production logistics.

Manage social media posting
Create engaging content in collaboration with the Executive Director and the Marketing Manager

TECHNICAL DESIGN + BUILD LEAD
Reports to: Creative Directors Help create the world the performers inhabit. Working collaboratively with the Creative Directors, this role will develop scenic concepts and coordinate (and assist with) the construction of sets that bring the production to life.
Responsibilities include:
Designing scenic and lighting elements
Planning constructions products and procuring materials needed (to be reimbursed by SOT)
Organizing volunteer build days
Supervising set construction
Ensuring scenery is safe and functional
Construction and artistic experience is helpful, but creativity and leadership are equally valuable.
SET CONSTRUCTION
Reports to: Technical Design and Build Lead Like building, painting, or working with tools? Set Builders work with the Technical Lead and Creative Directors to construct, paint, assemble, and transport scenery for the opera summer program.
Tasks may include:
Basic carpentry
Painting scenery
Building platforms and flats
No theater experience is necessary. Interest in building and construction is key.
COSTUME COORDINATOR/DESIGNER
Reports to Creative Directors Do you love bringing characters to life through the costume? Stafford Opera Troupe is seeking a volunteer Costume Coordinator/Designer to oversee the visual look of our productions. Working collaboratively with the Creative Directors, the coordinator helps develop the artistic vision for each season while coordinating the costume production.
Responsibilities include:
Developing costume concepts and color stories with the Creative Directors
Organizing costume inventory
Coordinating costume fittings (typically 1 day during the program duration)
Assigning projects to costume technician volunteers
Sourcing and/or developing costume construction plan
Maintaining costume inventory throughout program
Sewing costumes
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both creativity and organization. Basic sewing skills and pattern cutting are needed.
COSTUME TECHNICIAN
Reports to: Costume Coordinator/Designer Love to sew, craft, or alter clothing? Join our volunteer costume team! Help create, alter, repair, and maintain costumes for the Opera Program season. Projects range from simple hems to creating period pieces, fantasy costumes, accessories and foam armor. Theatre costuming experience is welcome, but not required. If you enjoy sewing and want to take on a new challenge, we would love to have you. Flexible schedule. Work can be done at home with expectation of completion for fitting week and production week.

PROP MASTER
Reports to: Stage Manager Every story is told in the details. Working collaboratively with the Creative Directors and Stage Manager, the Prop Master is responsible for sourcing, creating, organizing, and maintaining all props for rehearsals and performances during the summer program.
Responsibilities include:
Reading scripts/librettos to identify prop requirements
Borrowing, purchasing, renting or creating props
Organizing backstage prop table
Maintaining and repairing props, as needed
Ensuring all props are performance ready and performers are aware of their location

GUEST VOCAL FACULTY
Reports to: Executive Director Selected Emerging Artists may serve as Guest Vocal Faculty during the Summer Opera Program, providing private voice lessons to members of the local community. This opportunity allows artists to gain valuable teaching experience while helping offset the cost of program participation. Lessons are typically scheduled during the day, allowing artists to fully participate in evening rehearsals and performances. Responsibilities include:
Teaching a small studio of private voice students
Coordinating lesson times around the rehearsal schedule
Providing quality vocal instruction to singers of varying ages and experience levels
Serving as an ambassador for Stafford Opera Troupe's educational mission
