Stafford Opera Troupe was by far one of the best experiences I've ever had at a vocal camp. As well as learning challenging music and staging for our numerous pieces, I made great friends with the fellow performers who I will never forget... I would 100% recommend this camp to anyone interested in music as a career, but be forewarned, come with your work boots on because you're going to be doing a lot of hard work to get ready for your performance.

I'm a first year Music Theatre Major at James Madison University, and I participated in SOT's pilot program last summer. I had absolutely NO opera experience whatsoever, all I had was my musical theatre experience, and formal lessons. To say this program was influential in my education would be an extreme understatement. As a student in the school of music I study a mix of classical opera and music theatre, and this program definitely jumpstarted my training. Plus I got to meet and work with amazingly talented professionals and students in the area... If you're a musical theatre kid and you don't think opera is for you, I encourage you to do this program anyway! Being introduced to as many forms of performing makes you a more marketable and well-rounded performer.
